Mike makes a prediction that Trump will - as planned - announce the end of DACA in six months and that Congress - in Congressional best form - will do nothing during that six months and that (maybe) DACA will end uneventfully. Of course, the only time I predict continued Congressional gridlock may turn out to be the only case where Congress actually gets something done.

Here is, I would say, the kind of cognitive dissonance that the left lives with every day when an internal contradiction in their worldview rears its ugly head. A hopefully psychopathic cretin associated with the White Supremacist movement takes his car and - tearing a book from the ISIS playbook - rams it into a crowd of peaceful protesters killing one and injuring many others. Save me, for a moment, the equivocations. This murderer is, or thinks he is, one of us. Consequently, he besmirches all of us.

First, the august NYT describes the current state of the "Fair Housing Act" (from 1968) and how these days what it is doing is offering tax exempt funding for low income housing that builders can only find already impoverished communities to build in (Program to Spur Low-Income Housing is Keeping Cities Segregated).The result: more segregation. Who could have imagined such a well-intentioned government program having consequences that, well, nobody thought of???
