Harvest Bible Chapel Pittsburgh North

I have sinned. I was wrong. I need forgiveness.

Do you know who doesn’t say these things? The self-deceived person.

But the person who is truly saved walks in the light, and faces things as they are. Not lying to God, to others, or even to themselves.

Join us as we discuss 1 John 1:5-10 for Are You Sure… That You’re Not Self-Deceived?

Please join us for our services on Sundays at 9am and 11am!

3 Things Self-Deceived People Do: (1 John 1:5-10)

1. Live in SECRET SIN. (1 John 1:6-7)

2. Claim to be a GOOD person. (1 John 1:8-9)

James 5:16 - Therefore, confess your sins to one another and pray for one another, that you may be healed.

3. DENY sin. (1 John 1:10)

Romans 3:10-18 - None is righteous, no, not one; no one understands; no one seeks for God. All have turned aside; together they have become worthless; no one does good, not even one.” “Their throat is an open grave; they use their tongues to deceive.” “The venom of asps is under their lips.” “Their mouth is full of curses and bitterness.” “Their feet are swift to shed blood; in their paths are ruin and misery, and the way of peace they have not known.” “There is no fear of God before their eyes.”

John 3:20-21 - For everyone who does wicked things hates the light and does not come to the light, lest his works should be exposed. But whoever does what is true comes to the light, so that it may be clearly seen that his works have been carried out in God.
