Characteristics of Gossip: takes place in secret, talking about things that don't concern you, repeating information true or not, talking as if you have the authority, usually based on hear say, hurt by the subject of the Gossip and creates factions.

We all have the ability to walk away from the gossip conversation. Just because the information is accurate doesn't mean it's not gossip.

If you only receive and nothing goes out you'll be dead just like the Dead Sea.

Complaining you effects you and is toxic for you and all those around you.

Using your tongue to complain reveals a discontentment. Numbers 1

1. Displeases God

2. He hears it

3. Arouses His anger

4. Reveals a lack of faith in God

3. Your tongue will control your direction.

Taming the tongue requires diligence and the Holy Spirit.

God responds to covenant elements like prayer & worship. God was trying to show Peter he needed to understand things had changed and there would be new ways of out reach out. We many times push this generation because we have nothing for them to follow. If the only people who are surrounding are Christians then you are failing. Who is requesting your audience and if the answer is no one then why?
