Galatians chapter 5 lists the fruit of the Holy Spirit.  This is fruit is made manifest in our lives when we are in sync with God.  But this list also describes who He is and how He relates to His people.  Because God is never out of sync with His own character, this list becomes a good metric to determine whether we are believing a lie about God.  It also happens to be a good metric to determine if someone is truly operating in the name of Jesus or by some other authority.  

Core Values are the guiding principals through which you interpret all of life.  They aren't just good ideas; they are literally the driving force behind what you think and why you think what you do.  In this series we will explore Harvest Church's core values, but in doing so, I think that you will find that our values are actually kingdom values.  So, embark with us on a journey of discovering God and His kingdom values again in this challenging and refreshing series.

When we abide in Christ, we become like Him in 3 distinct ways. 1. In our compassion, grace, and love for people 2. In character, as displayed by the fruit of the Spirit 3. In power, in the demonstration of the kingdom.

Building trust with God is different than building trust with man.  With man, it's simply word and action.  You say you will do something and then you do it.  Consistency in this arena builds trust.  But with God, there are two major factors that distinguish the way we build trust with Him from that of man.  If we don't understand this, instead of building trust with God, we will actually be building a history of mistrust resulting in being left shipwrecked in our faith.

We don't usually get to see the whole picture, but like Paul, we get the opportunity to find what God IS doing in our circumstances and choose joy. There is no question, God is building something in us as we walk through the storm.  Will you have eyes to see?
