  • The Good Shepherd - John 10:1-21 - July 19, 2026

    Blake Hickman, Guest Preacher

    The Good Shepherd

In John 10:1-21, we see Jesus make astounding statements and every one of them is true. Jesus says:

    • “I am the door…” (v. 7)
    • “If anyone enters by me, he will be saved…” (v. 9)
    • “I am the good shepherd…” (v. 11)
    • “I know my own…” (v. 14)
    • “I have other sheep…I must bring them also (v. 16)
    • “I lay down my life…” (v. 17-18)

He is our Savior. He is our safety. He is our Good Shepherd. J.C. Ryle says, “Let us lean back our souls on these mighty truths, and be thankful” (Ryle, The Gospel of John, p. 140).

  • Why Should I Share My Testimony? - John 9:1-41 - July 12, 2026

    Niklaus Baughn, Guest Preacher

In John 9:1-41, we meet see Jesus encounter a man born blind "that the works of God might be displayed in him" (v.3). After Jesus miraculously heals him, the Pharisees question and accuse him. Seeing, they do not see.

The man born blind does not have every answer to every question, but he responds with a testimony of God's grace: "One thing I do know, that though I was blind, now I see" (v. 25).

The same is true for us today. We don't have to know everything to follow Jesus because when Jesus changes our lives, our stories become a witness to who he is.

  • True Children of God - John 8:31-59 - July 5, 2026

    Matthew Poole, Lead Pastor

    True Children of God

In John 8:31-59, we see that confidence is no sure sign that we are heading in the correct direction. It is possible to be lost, and not know it. Jesus shows the Pharisees, and us, that we all need to receive, believe, and be reborn.

True children of God recognize their need for Jesus and rejoice in salvation through Jesus. We recognize our need for a Savior and rejoice in the salvation given by the blood of Jesus.

  • Walk in the Light - John 8:12-30 - June 28, 2026

    Besweri Wallujo, Guest Preacher

In John 8:12-30, we see that a life that has embraced the gospel and walks in the light advances the kingdom of God. To advance the kingdom, we must walk in the light. To walk in the ight, we must first embrace the gospel.

When we embrace the gospel, Jesus gives new life that is certain and secure in him. As we walk in newness of life, we look to Jesus and ask him to lead us to advance his kingdom.

  • The Judge Becomes the Judged - John 7:53-8:11 - June 21, 2026

    Matthew Poole, Lead Pastor

In John 7:53-8:11, we saw that the Judge becomes the judged. Jesus, who alone is the Righteous Judge, who alone can stand before the Holy Law, becomes what only He can be, a righteous substitutionary sacrifice, condemned to die in the place of sinners so that sinners may live.

The Judge is judged in our place.

This leads us to two gospel applications: First, we receive the mercy of Jesus. By faith, we hear him say over us, “neither do I condemn you.” Second, we walk in the righteousness of Jesus. In joy, we walk in holiness in the new life that Jesus gives to us.

  • If Anyone Thirsts - John 7:1-52 - June 14, 2026

    Matthew Poole, Lead Pastor

Jesus said, “If anyone thirsts, let him come to me, as the Scripture has said, ‘Out of his heart will flow rivers of living water’” (John 7:37). Let him come to me. Jesus gives us an invitation to come to him. In his commentary on The Gospel of John, J.C. Ryle writes, “It is one thing to come to Christ’s church, Christ’s ministers, and Christ’s ordinances. It is quite another thing to come to Christ himself.

    Are you thirsty?

Will you come to Jesus and drink?
