God has changed Priesthoods! Man’s path to God does not run through Levi or Aaron, but through Christ who is of a different order of priests. God Himself has declared that it is through Christ that we have been brought to a place of perfection.

Christ our Great High Priest The priesthood for the children of Israel was central to their faith. They understood that they could not go directly to God, but they needed a God ordained representative. For Israel, it required someone from the tribe of Levi. But now we are being reminded by the writer of Hebrews that there are two different priesthoods ordained of God and one is superior to the other. We learn that Jesus is of the line of priests that are superior to anything that Levi had to offer.
