This week in the vacuum, we discuss the ever-present need for Black spaces, which are maintained and sustained by Black people for the sanity and safety of Black people who are navigating the white supremacist capitalist male patriarchy. We also discuss the importance of having media that accurately reflects the light in which we want to see ourselves; for example, many of us want to see apparently Black people loving and embracing other people who look like them, and fewer depictions of forced interracial storylines.
