Manchester-born DJ, producer and label boss, Cleric has been a prolific figure within the electronic dance landscape for fifteen years. With his label, Clergy, the Mancunian has strived to cultivate an aesthetic which mirrors that of his own musical principles. Always earnest in his conviction, Cleric has stayed staunch to the pacey, arresting techno that’s secured him his rightful place amongst the scene’s hardest of hitters.

To usher in the next decade, Cleric has announced a total of 10 VA’s to be released in 2025, each with 5 original tracks, and closing with a remix of a track from the label’s back catalogue from Cleric himself. The first VA titled ‘Alpha’ will drop on the 25th January.

“I've always tried to push boundaries on new projects and concepts. Instead of being a standard 4 track EP every time. For our 20th release we created "visions". An unreleased mix with no track-list that was launched with visuals over on HATE. Following the release of the mix, all the tracks then released on Clergy. This gave unknown artists a chance to rub shoulders with big names and people not pre-judging their music on profile size.” - Cleric

Björn Torwellen’s ‘Binary Fate’ EP kickstarts CLR’s 2025 with three pounding Techno tracks 31st January 2025. From the razor-sharp percussion and raw bassline power in title track ‘Binary Fate’, to the cavernous dub hits and shadowy atmospheres of ‘Fear of the Unknown’, before closing on the mind-warping signals of ‘Lost in Transmission’ - Torwellen’s ‘Binary Fate’ is yet another supersized debut on the seminal CLR.

Following Björn Torwellen’s appearance on the CLR podcast in June 2024, the Cologne-based artist now definitively joins Chris Liebing’s label with the ‘Binary Fate’ three-tracker this January. With a career spanning over two decades, Björn is known for his discography on labels like De-Konstrukt, Nachtstrom Schallplatten, nonlinear systems, and now CLR.

Founded by influential techno lynchpin Chris Liebing in 1999 and reemerging in 2021 after a five-year hiatus, Create Learn Repeat (CLR) has hosted a range of artists like Shlomi Aber, Dubfire, Flug, Bjarki, DJ Dextro and more while also focusing on developing newer acts in the scene such as Risa Taniguchi, The Southern, and Klint.
