Did you know that Jesus had a brother who was an unbeliever? His name was James. James was a son of Mary and Joseph and therefore a half-brother to Jesus and brother to Joseph, Simon, Judas, and their sisters (Matthew 13:55). In the Gospels, James is mentioned a couple of times, but at that time he misunderstood Jesus’ ministry and was not a believer (John 7:2-5)

One of the skills any disciple should have is the ability to wait with readiness. A disciple knows how to eagerly seek with all their heart while also being able to wait upon the Lord. Think of the story of the man at the well in John 5 as well as the parable of the wise and foolish virgins. Are you seeking the Lord with all your heart but can also wait patiently for the Lord’s timing?
