Mirror Moments are our way of stepping beyond the walls of a featured location and into the surrounding historic community connected to it. These are the nearby spaces, landmarks, and local stories that deepen the history of an entry—and sometimes feel just as haunted as the place that led us there.

For Entry 001, our story begins at The Dunhill Hotel—but history doesn’t stop at the front door.

Just a short walk away, we found our first Mirror Moment inside Ri Ra Irish Pub in Uptown Charlotte: a space filled with old-world character, warm candlelight, layered history… and stories that still linger after dark.

From the staircase to the upstairs rooms, Ri Ra felt like one of those places where the past sits just beneath the surface. The kind of place where history feels close enough to touch—and where local stories still echo in the corners.

Through Mirror Moments, we’ll continue exploring the places surrounding each HMS entry—sharing community history, uncovering forgotten details, and giving space to the stories that still live there.
