Is it possible to amaze the Creator of the universe?. In the third installment of the "Truth Bombs" series, we dive into Luke 7:1–10 to witness a rare moment where a human being "steals the breath away" from Jesus. While love often makes amazement difficult due to rising expectations—what psychologists call the "hedonic treadmill"—the Gospel reveals that we can live with a faith that causes God himself to marvel.
By examining the story of a Roman Centurion—a "manly middleman" with unlimited power and wealth who chose radical humility—we discover the four pillars of a marvelous faith:
* An Informed Faith: A faith that is built on hearing the Word of God and witnessing His wonders.
* A Dependent Faith: The moment we stop being self-reliant and become completely God-reliant, recognizing that His resources begin where ours end.
* A Humble Faith: A grace-based relationship that understands we are not worthy of His favor, yet trusts in His infinite mercy.
* An Anchored Faith: An unshakable confidence in the authoritative Word of Jesus. Like the Centurion, we must believe that if the "Emperor of all emperors" says it, it is done—regardless of distance or circumstance.
From stories of a rusted 1975 Plymouth "Green Monster" to the profound deathbed faith of a 92-year-old woman, this message explores how to move beyond "dusty traditions" and embrace a faith that acknowledges Jesus' absolute authority.
When the Savior speaks a promise, do you have the faith to simply say, "Just say the word"?
