Last week we talked about The Beatles faux-documentary A Hard Day's Night, so what better movie to follow that up with than a mockumentary about a heavy metal band, This Is Spinal Tap. The timing of the move feels rather appropriate as well, given the recent loss of comedian Fred Willard, who appears in one of Spinal Tap's scenes. The movie is brought to us this week by Marc from the Performance Anxiety podcast. It has a surprising amount of substance, leading to an excellent conversation about the movie and how Rafe and guest Alex Kunka related to it. But somehow, it's also largely overlooked. It's definitely a movie worth your time and Rafe and Alex wind up having a fantastic discussion about the movie, life choices (and maybe some regrets), online dating, and how our perceptions are impacted by social media.
