Social media platforms have become a breeding ground for disinformation, echo chambers that amplify alternative news and alternative facts, which hijack elections and politics as we saw in the US on 6 January. Twenty years ago we talked about the information highway, but it can also be a highway to hell. It can potentially be just as destructive as it can be constructive. Facebook and Twitter pulled the plug on Donald Trump after the storming of the Capitol.

We are talking about the impact of these events on Europe with MEPs Rasa Juknevičienė and Vladimír Bilčík, and co-founder of the Lincoln Project, Rick Wilson.
