JESUS?
SCRIPTURE TEXT: JOSHUA 24:15 NIV
But if serving the LORD seems undesirable to you, then choose for yourselves this day whom you will
serve, whether the gods your ancestors served beyond the Euphrates, or the gods of the Amorites, in
whose land you are living. But as for me and my household, we will serve the LORD.”
DESCRIPTION: The lesson today is all about choices. God has made us to be free moral agents with the ability to choose. There are some major decisions that we must make each day; one of them is to serve God or not to serve. As we look in the Book of Joshua, He is talking to the children of Israel about choosing and making a decision to serve the TRUE AND LIVING GOD. The people needed to make their own decisions. The choice was simple for Joshua because he had seen the handy work of God and the benefits of serving him.
God is the same God that placed the tree in the Garden of Eden. Adam and Eve were given a choice to obey or disobey. He wants a meaningful loving relationship with us. It is simple, you have a choice well be reminded that God is a jealous God and we should have no other god before Him. So choose wisely. This is Mary Whitby with a MARY L WHITBY TEACHING MOMENT. “IT WILL ONLY TAKE A MOMENT!”
