Are your DNA connections off?  Do you have DNA matches in which your sibling, aunt, uncle, or first cousin may not have?  Each Person inherits 50 percent of their parents DNA each.  Which copies of DNA you inherit depends on chance and science.  You may have known 3rd cousins not DNA match with you, yet unknown distant cousins in which DNA match with you.  It is possible to lose many copies of DNA as they are passed down generation after generation, but on the flip side, other DNA copies may continue to get passed down generation after generation. 

What is a 2nd cousin, once removed anyway?  

I hope I am able to explain this to the best of my ability.  For my example, I am entrusting in my third cousin, Michael Rosen, whom I had just met a few weeks ago, yet it feels like we've known each other almost our whole lives and, ironically, our ancestors all lived under the same roof in the 1940's.

This is a quick episode I wanted to follow up with something a little more positive. This is how I determined my mother's paternal grandfather was in fact my mother's paternal grandfather.   Follow me on instagram @twindescendant
