“Have You Quit Yet?” Advent Week 1- Zachariah
Have you ever been disappointed with God because you've had to wait for something for a long time? We know waiting is hard so this year we are starting our advent series early! We are walking through a number of individuals in scripture that had to wait for a long time. Advent draws our minds to celebrate the coming of our savior the first time, but it also teaches us how to wait for the second coming of our king.
Here are the devotional questions from the 1st week in our series. We encourage you to read the story of Zachariah and Elizabeth in Luke chapter one and ponder these questions yourself this week:
1. Why does perseverance require courage? What are we afraid of?
2. How do we change the character of God as we wait? What ideas do we project on God that aren't true when we wait?
3. Have you ever been confused on the path God has you? What are your tendencies when you wait on the Lord?
4. Why do you think it's hard for us to believe that God sees us and answers our prayers?
5. What have you stopped praying for because God didn't answer it immediately?
