Ephesians 3:14-21

John Goetsch said, “Prayer connects our poverty to God's Power”. In Psalm 55:16-17, David said “As for me, I will call upon God; and the Lord shall save me. Evening, and morning, and at noon, will I pray, and cry aloud: and he shall hear my voice.”. Can God come through with these things that Paul is requesting? Paul answer’s the question: He “is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think”! Someone may ask: Why are You Praying? Our answer: HE’S ABLE!

Ephesians 3:1-13

God chose to reveal the mysteries of salvation through Christ, and the singleness in the church to Paul. As a result, Paul had a three-fold responsibility in ministry: (1) Preach Christ. (2) Make Disciples. (3) Glorify God. As a man who was previously steeped in religion, Paul's message was simple: Through faith in Christ, we can enter into a relationship with God.

Ephesians 2:11-22

If Jesus Christ “is our peace”, then, why is it that the churches seem to have become bastions of division and disunity? I’ll tell you why—our relationship with each other is, in many ways, indicative of our relationship to God! 1 John 4:20-21 says “If a man say, I love God, and hateth his brother, he is a liar: for he that loveth not his brother whom he hath seen, how can he love God whom he hath not seen? And this commandment have we from him, That he who loveth God love his brother also.”. YOU CAN’T BE RIGHT WITH GOD AND WRONG WITH MAN!

Acts 17:1-17

Our two-fold purpose for life is to (1) Experience God's Glory-To engage in a vibrant relationship with God. (2) Express God's Glory-To evangelize the world by sharing the good news of Salvation through Jesus Christ. While this "fire" seems to be burning brightly at the beginning our faith journey, "the tendency of a fire is that it GOES OUT". Sometimes, along this journey, we need God to "stir" our hearts-to renew our burden for both our relationship with Him, but also our reach for Him.

Ephesians 1:13-14

"You Say" is all about learning that when we trust in Jesus Christ for salvation, we are given a BRAND NEW IDENTITY "in Christ". This doesn't mean that all of the other sources of my identity disappear(Personal, Professional, Planned, Private), rather, that my POSITIONAL IDENTITY(my new identity in Christ) is where I begin.

1 Corinthians 12:1-31

Psalm 133:1 says “Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity!”. That word “unity” means “a unit, union”. It doesn’t mean that we will all be identical in everything we do, it just means that we can embrace diversity without being divided. It means that we embrace the role that God has given me and fulfill that role while being completely comfortable with my brother or sister who have been placed in a completely different role… why? Because we are ultimately A UNIT—WE ARE UNITED AS ONE—heading in the same direction. Paul challenged the church in Ephesus—“…walk worthy of the vocation wherewith ye are called, With all lowliness and meekness, with longsuffering, forbearing one another in love; Endeavouring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.”(Ephesians 4:1-3)

1 Thessalonians 1:1-10

DNA is defined as "The fundamental and distinctive characteristics or qualities of someone or something". At Haven, our DNA-our fundamental and distinctive quality- is that we are UNITED by our Faith in Jesus Christ, PASSIONATE about our relationship with God, and DEVOTED to impacting our world with the Gospel.

This series of messages is intended to clearly define the purpose statement of Haven Baptist Church.
