Guest Dr. Jim Barahal (President, Honolulu Marathon Association) took on the helm of this annual sporting event in 1987.

It remains Hawaii's marathon, with local volunteer clubs and organizations along the route and at the finish line, as well as participating at various fitness levels and abilities.

The JAL Honolulu Marathon continues its No Time Limit to the completion of the course, unique official Finisher t-shirt (new design each season), and malassadas. I know! We will hear more on these traditions in this episode :)

World Blood Donor Day is on Saturday, June 14th and in our islands, Blood Bank of Hawaii reminds all that every day is Blood Donor Day.

If you have your motorcycle rider's license to drive in Hawaii, congratulations! There are guidelines in effect, as recent as December 2025, that are in place to keep riders, drivers, and pedestrians safe and alert on our islands' roadways.

Guests Christy Crowser (Highway Safety Specialist with the Hawaii Department of Transportation) and Brant Perry (Certified Rider Coach and Motorcycle Safety Advocate) are licensed riders and each have their own reasons to encourage all to Ride Within Your Ability.

Guests Austin Babayan and Scott Nattenberg share their stories before and after becoming residents at Habilitat. The Kailua-based rehabilitation treatment center has a better than 60% success rate and assists graduates with temporary transitional housing and job placement.

Habilitat has a variety of fundraising campaigns throughout the year, like their "Driving for Change" golf tournament at Mid-Pacific Country Club, their 2026 Online Auction, and the popular Hawaii Christmas Tree project.
