Bryon Kay is the owner of Kona Honu Divers, a dive shop in Kona, Hawaii (also know as the Big Island). Today he describes the benefits of freediving, especially when diving with large animals like: pilot whales, bottlenose dolphins, tiger sharks, & whale sharks off shore in the blue waters of Kona Hawaii. Freediving is a tool every scuba divers should add to their belt.
Bryon started freediving after meeting his future wife at Honaunau (a popular dive site in South Kona, Hawaii). After a little bit of a rough start, Bryon learned to be an incredible freediver. Years later, he finds himself, wife, and young son in the blue water off the Kona Coast as tiger sharks and dolphins swim around them.
