What a treat for our tenth episode. We get one of the all time best goalies with one eye. The hammer. MM. Mike played for five years and says he was the reason Rocky got so many wins. Dive in to hear the fellas bullshit about time change and travel, some intramural floor hockey, some alumni news, and how Jonesy and Mike are on IMDB for their acting experience. Enjoy!
Another eppy that is all over the place but a lot of laughs! Impossible to edit as Simmy was on a roll. Keep up as the fellas catch up with the all time Nitehawk leading scorer, Dallas Calvin! They talk about Dal's first few years with the team and what he's up to now. They mention Snaker's traps, Jonesy lifting the Stanley Cup, and a whole lot else! Tune in for a great show.
It's a big one. Some of the toughest Nitehawks of all time! Greg Carson joins the boys with a special surprise guest.. Barret Jackman! Go back 27 years and Cars was the 20 yr old captain and Barret a 15 yr old rookie. The two talk about what they are doing now, and what that special run was like during that 1996/1997 season that led the way to the Nitehawks first ever Cyclone Taylor Championship.
Try to keep up as we laugh ourselves silly catching up with alums Jamie and Lucas Burnett and their carpool buddy, one of the best playmakers in Nitehawk history, Shane Drake. We get to know Lucas's alter ego "Seth Sweepstakes" and Draker goes in to how he likes to eat his fruit, decades old. Enjoy the episode!
The fellas bring it back to the eighties with two of the most important pieces of that decade. Eric (Vulchy) + Dave (Haystack) chat about what minor and junior hockey in the area was like. Vulch tells some jokes, Jonesy talks about some team showers, and Haystack even gives us some trivia! Take a listen and enjoy!
The fellas catch up with former Nitehawk Captain, Archie McKinnon. A member of the Nitehawks from 2011-2014, Arch led the team to two KIJHL titles, and don't forget a Keystone Cup too. We get into his life post Nitehawks, the infamous Rossland Carpool, picketing, and Arch also laughs about his best buddy losing some teeth. Enjoy the show!
His stats aren't kept thank goodness or the future Hawk goalies would have never believed the shoes they'd have to fill! Rocky Dickson joins the guys to chat about fishing, slap-shots, flying oranges, and gobstoppers. His #2 jersey is retired and hangs in the rafters and he is arguably one of the best goalies in not only Nitehawk history but in JR. B history! A lot of laughs in this one. Enjoy.
Hereee comes Matteucci!! Simmy and Snake catch up with former Assistant Coach , Paul Matteucci. Incredibly passionate and a wicked sense of humor, you'll never meet a coach more willing to run through a wall his players. 'Tooch' coached for almost 10 years and there are some incredible memories he shares. Him and the fellas catch up on sweatpants, line brawls, cribbage, and how the game of hockey has changed.
Enjoy!
Our hosts catch up with Tom Meakes. Known as Teakes to most, he wore many hats for the organization. Not just an equipment manager, he was a masseuse, mechanic, dental assistant, to name a few. He did it all, and was and is an integral pillar of the Nitehawk Community. Enjoy.
Our hosts, Simmy, Snaker, and Jonesy catch up with the most dedicated Nitehawk ever. Literally. Dwayne Bouliane won the award five times.
