Continuing the summer series "The Unstoppable Church", Sue Glover speaks on how the Holy Disruptor empowers us to be disruptors, shifts our expectations, and moves us from passive faith to active mission.
Text: Acts 2:1-4; 2:37-41; 4:23-31
Big Idea: The Holy Spirit disrupts fear, comfort, and control, transforming the disciples from waiting followers into bold witnesses. The ascension and replacement of Judas disrupt their expectations, but the real shift happens when the Spirit empowers them to become disruptors for the Kingdom. The Spirit fills, convicts, emboldens, and multiplies.
Application: How do we respond when God shifts our expectations and plans? Are we waiting passively or preparing actively for the Spirit to move? Are we willing to be disrupted so we can be sent?
The Holy Spirit empowers us to be disruptors—what structures, mindsets, or barriers is He calling us to challenge today?
HBC is a church based in Chester with a vision to bring healing, wholeness and freedom to broken lives and communities as we expect great things from God and attempt great things with God.
As part of that, we pursue God’s presence as we help people to love, trust and follow the way of Jesus.
We gather at 10.30am on the 1st & 3rd Sundays of each month.
