For some time now, I have been participating with my friends at @hive-echo in various calls to action and, of course, promoting our beloved Hive blockchain in the ecosystem and also on the web. Always raising the stakes, this time we have been invited to participate in a great initiative, together with our friends @lordbutterfly and @threespeak. These actions require us to strengthen our knowledge, since I am not an expert in this particular area, but by going to @hive.io we can gather information and learn more about it. I have been in the ecosystem for a little over three years, and what I am about to tell you are my perceptions about our stable currency, HBD. Of course, I made a presentation to facilitate understanding.

Tengo un poco más de 3 años en el ecosistema y lo que te voy a decir son mis percepciones sobre nuestra moneda estable HBD. Por supuesto, realicé una presentación para facilitar la comprensión.
HBD is a stablecoin native to the Hive ecosystem and was designed to maintain a value close to $1 USD. It operates in a decentralized and algorithmic manner, with automated conversion mechanisms between Hive and HBD to protect that monetary peg. This stability in value avoids the volatility common to other tokens. There is an automatic mechanism in the ecosystem, which I consider very good, that involves putting HBD into savings within Hive and earning interest. The APR currently averages around 15% per year, voted on by the network's witnesses. Something else I love is the ability to convert Hive to HBD and vice versa, without intermediaries on the blockchain, with settlement times of about 3 to 3.5 days and a 5% fee that is burned to maintain stability. Our stablecoin also serves as a means of payment within the various decentralized applications that exist in the ecosystem, between users, creators, and also external exchanges. The trend is toward total decentralization, where there are no central custodians and everything operates thanks to the active community.

Esa estabilidad en el valor, evita la volatilidad habitual de otros tokens. En el ecosistema existe un mecanismo automático, que considero muy bueno y tiene que ver con poner HBD en ahorro dentro de Hive y ganar interés. El APR ronda actualmente en un promedio del 15% anual, votado por los witness de la red. Algo que me encanta también es la posibilidad de convertir Hive a HBD y viceversa, sin intermediarios en la blockchain, con tiempos de liquidación de unos 3 a 3,5 días y un fee del 5% que se quema para mantener la estabilidad. También nuestra moneda estable sirve como medio de pago dentro de las diferentes aplicaciones descentralizadas que existen en el ecosistema, entre usuarios, creadores y también intercambios externos. Se tiende a una descentralización total, donde no existen custodios centrales y todo opera gracias a la comunidad activa.
As I mentioned in the presentation, many stablecoins depend on centralized reserves, while HBD depends on the real economy of the ecosystem. This makes it completely transparent and regulated by its decentralized governance. Hive is a pioneer in offering rewards just for participating and also for generating content, such as supporting others, etc. Hive has an active and vibrant community with many popular decentralized applications such as Peakd, 3speak, Esency, LikeTu, Inleo, and many more that are constantly growing.
