      El papa León XIV llega a la Argentina del 8 al 11 de noviembre y tiene una serie de agenda para su estadía en este país. Era muy niño cuando vino Juan Pablo II y siempre me pregunté por qué el papa Francisco no vino a su país. Al margen de eso, creo que es un gran evento el que vamos a vivir y es por eso mis reflexiones.

      El amigo Brandon McNulty, de Estados Unidos, es el nuevo campeón del mundo. Atacó a 32 km del final, aproximadamente, en una carrera de más de 270 km, y le puso más de 6 horas arriba de la bicicleta. Es el primer estadounidense que gana el Mundial de ruta en 33 años. El último había sido Lance Armstrong, en el año 1993. Tal como lo decíamos en ediciones anteriores, ganó un tapado.

      Los favoritos realmente quedaron ahí, simplemente siendo favoritos. Mathieu van der Poel, que era el que tenía que ganar según mi criterio, no trabajó inteligentemente. Quería ganarla de principio a fin, a lo Pogačar, pero hay veces que el cuerpo no responde como uno quiere, si bien creo que él tenía las piernas para ser campeón del mundo. El pelotón principal lo atrapó y nunca lo dejó ir solo. En ocasiones lo hizo, pero no fue suficiente.

Siento que tenía todo para ganar, pero no pudieron alcanzar a McNulty.

      Como casi todos los años, el inicio de la primavera es un gran momento para pasar un momento juntos, en familia y rodeados sobre todo de amigos. El común denominador de las tertulias, por supuesto, es el ciclismo, y también charlar con los familiares de nuestros compañeros, que de alguna manera entienden la filosofía de un ciclista.       Remco Evenepoel, con tan solo 26 años, ya tiene su cuarto título en el Mundial de Crono y de manera consecutiva. Existen otros que han logrado la mismo hazaña, pero no como lo hizo el amigo de Bélgica. El italiano Filippo Ganna no pudo con la supremacía de Remco y quedó a 57 segundos. La gran sorpresa del día lo dio Paul Seixas, el francés que con tan solo 19 años está dando que hablar y quizás el año que viene sea sorpresa en esta especialidad. Nuestro amigo Isaac del Toro, en un sexto lugar muy pero muy aplaudible. Por el lado de las féminas, la suiza Marlen Reusser, a más de 40 segundos, se quedó con el primer lugar. Hoy corren los Sub 23 y, como argentino, estoy pendiente de Mateo Kalejman.

      El día de ayer cumpliría 93 años mi querida madre, y por esas cosas de la vida sufrió una terrible enfermedad que se lo llevó muy joven. Es por eso que quise aunar esta historia de mi vida con la iniciativa vigente de la comunidad Hive Argentina. Madre de ocho hijos, donde gran parte de su vida lo vivió en el campo, y quizás por ignorancia o falta de actitud, realmente no lo sé, no se hacía los chequeos médicos cotidianos o anuales que actualmente aconsejamos.

>*Yesterday my dear mother would have turned 93, and as life would have it, she suffered a terrible illness that took her very young. That's why I wanted to bring together this story from my life with the ongoing initiative of the Hive Argentina community. Mother of eight children, most of whose life was spent out in the countryside, and maybe out of ignorance or lack of will, I really don't know, she never got the daily or yearly medical checkups that we recommend nowadays.*


      Es una especie de homenaje a mi madre, que sinceramente uno siempre tiene cosas para decir de ellas. Hago una serie de reflexiones sobre la importancia de prestar atención a nuestra salud desde distintos ángulos y, por supuesto, espero que todas esas personas que actualmente están pasando por diferentes vicisitudes puedan salir adelante. Te mando un fuerte abrazo y muy buenas vibras a todos ellos.

After so much insistence, I go check out some tutorial on how to create the account and all that stuff, and honestly it reminded me so much of Temu that I gave up on it. I mean, piling on more responsibilities and losing focus on what I've got going right now — I don't think that's the right move. But like every entrepreneur and opportunity-seeker, I went back and watched more content about it and started reflecting on it. Maybe that's why we love our Hive ecosystem so much.*

      Entre dimes y diretes, pareciera que Google quiere incorporar, a través de Play Store, diferentes métodos para poder controlar las aplicaciones que uno tiende a descargarse. Supuestamente para resguardarte de hackeos, de aplicaciones que son estafas y muchos bla bla. Sospecho que simplemente es para frenar la invasión de aplicaciones y plataformas chinas a Occidente. Tal cual lo hacen los chinos por allá. Según dicen, no permiten que nada de Occidente ingrese. El puntapié inicial dicen que sucedió cuando obligaron a TikTok, que es una empresa china, a que sus accionistas sean también de Occidente, de manera de tener una tajada de la sandía y, por supuesto, algún tipo de control.

Temu es otra plataforma de compras muy parecida a MercadoLibre, que ya la utilicé a modo de prueba y realmente funcionó perfectamente. Compré tres productos y me llegaron cinco, de los cuales dos no eran lo que esperaba. En conclusión, casi que no me regalaron nada. Pero, más allá de eso, funciona. Te podés comprar una insignificancia y la semana que viene la tenés en la puerta de tu casa. Si hay algo que los chinos tienen, es efectividad en los procesos.

      La mayoría de los creadores de contenidos en la web 2 busca la viralidad. Lo que me sucedió a mí tiene que ver con una cuenta chica de no más de 200 seguidores y cuyo contenido tiene más de 37 k de visualizaciones. Ahora, ¿qué hacer con eso?

      Cubrir eventos deportivos, y más aún si sos un amante del deporte en general, es realmente satisfactorio. Pero el tema está en que si te toca cubrir disciplinas deportivas que practicás y son parte de tus pasiones, eso realmente es sublime. La organización de Tierra Brava realizó su clásico evento deportivo anual en el Taladro, provincia de Buenos Aires, Argentina, y ahí estuvimos trabajando detrás de escena.
