  • TOP #4: How To Live Life Driven By Love, Not Fear ft. Laura Krause

Are you living in fear of sin?

This may not be easy to pinpoint in your own life right away, so here are some questions to ask yourself:

    - are you terrified that your spouse will look at porn?

    - does the possibility of your children being exposed to various sins keep you awake at night?

    - do you find yourself spending a lot of energy trying to control other people's choices?

Laura Krause is a wife, mom, prayer warrior & church planter who has been set free from fear's grip on her life by the perfect love of Christ. She shares the story of how the Lord completely changed her perspective: Our goal is not to build sin-proof marriages. Our goal is not to prevent our kids from being exposed to anything immoral.

The goal should be to create such safe and loving relationships, that sin will not destroy them.

When we live in anxiety and fear of sin, we elevate sin itself instead of Christ and His redemptive work on the cross. Redemption is better than perfection. When we sin, we have an Advocate in heaven who is abounding in steadfast love, ready to forgive and restore.

1 John 2:1 says, "My dear children, I am writing this to you so that you will not sin. But if anyone does sin, we have an advocate who pleads our case before the Father. He is Jesus Christ, the one who is truly righteous."

  • S4E7: Feeling Behind In Life? How To Stop Measuring Your Life By Your Accomplishments
Do you ever fear that you're falling behind in life?
Are you comparing your life pace & accomplishments to your friends or the people younger than you with 1M followers on Instagram?
Maryellen Hacko graduated university with a degree in law, yet is now a freelance writer & illustrator. How did that happen? The Lord set her free from equating her worth to what she accomplished. She used to feel as if she was only valuable when she was producing something, but she has learned her identity as a child of God and has been set free from the fear that she is behind in life.
The Truth is that everyone goes at their own pace. When you graduate from school, there is no longer a set program you need to follow. It is normal and natural that everyone will go on different paths.
The world may tell you that you need to be married, own a home, and have your dream job by age 30 (which is a lot of pressure!). That isn't what God says, though. His expectations of you are vastly different.
If you fear you are not accomplishing enough or will get left behind as your friends' lives progress, listen to this episode. Maryellen's heart and testimony will break that fear off of you so you can be free to deeply enjoy your life, no matter where you're at!

  • The Post-Grad Years: How To Prevent Isolation & Create New Community ft. Shannan Martin
Once you’re out of school, your community looks different than it once did. How do you create a new community when you no longer live in a dorm and go to class with the same people? It doesn't mean you stop being friends with your fellow alumni. It just means life changes and you get to make new friends now too.
I asked Shannan, author of Start With Hello, how post-grads can prevent isolation during that transition & her answers were incredibly simple and beautiful. People have been connecting for thousands of years before the Internet ever came onto the scene, so we need to go back to the basics and become visible to the people who are in our everyday lives.
Enjoy this extended conversation & expect the full episode to release in the summertime!

  • S4E5: The Sex Ed You Always Needed, But Never Got
Disclaimer: You may want headphones for this episode if you're around little ears. We talk about sex.
Many evangelical, Christian women did not receive adequate sexual education growing up and the conversation was not encouraged. Holly Ward shares what you should know before starting your sex life with your spouse. Sex is a gift from God and was in the world before sin entered. It is God's idea, so our conversation is geared towards removing lies or shame you have felt in the past from inaccurate information you've received (of lack thereof).
    We answer questions like:
    - what do I think about while having sex?
    - how can I set healthy expectations for my first time?
    - what if my partner has a history of pornography addiction?
    - when is the right time to read resources about sex?
    - which resources are helpful & which are unhelpful or even damaging?
