This is Frank Gaffney with the Secure Freedom Minute. 

Without explicitly saying so, two recent official disclosures suggest we are at war. 

The first, issued by the National Counter-Terrorism Center, warned that al Qaeda cells have embedded themselves across major urban centers in this country. Consistent with the group’s 9/11 attacks, their targets appear aimed at maximizing casualties and chaos by targeting transportation systems and crowded public spaces.

The second, just revealed by the Secret Service, indicates that a devastating attack on telecommunications networks in the New York City region was narrowly averted this week. It’s being described as the work of an unnamed foreign government and individuals here. 

We need an informed national debate about the war we are in, the fact that it could go fully – and potentially devastatingly – kinetic at any moment and how Americans can be read-in and crowdsourced to help authorities identify and counter enemies within.
