Give a listen, I feel like this episode is so timely.
Keri Cooper, LCSW, is the owner of Keri Cooper Holistic Therapy (Ramsey, NJ). In her practice, she counsels teens and works to give them the tools needed to navigate life. She takes a holistic approach to therapy, looking at the whole person, not just the symptoms.
Keri is the author of the new book, “Mental Health Uncensored: 10 Foundations Every Parent Needs to Know” (May 2022). The book is designed to give parents steps on how to improve their child’s mental health. Keri is a speaker and writer who educates teens and parents on topics teens face in everyday life.
In “Mental Health Uncensored: 10 Foundations Every Parent Needs To Know,” Keri Cooper explores why conventional mental health advice isn’t working and 10 strategies that do. She provides a fresh, no-nonsense perspective to the current teen mental health crisis by sharing proven real-life strategies that she has used in her own practice for the past 20 years. This is a must-read for any parent looking to raise a mentally strong young adult.
“Mental Health Uncensored” explores both physical and mental foundations parents need to teach to their children. Keri Cooper explains how these foundations impact children’s mental health. Most parents are overlooking how issues of dehydration and poor diet, to name a few, are making it harder for children to have optimal mental health. “Mental Health Uncensored” showcases how important it is for parents to teach their children how to say no to others and not feel that they are responsible for other people’s feelings. These foundations along with others create healthy mental health habits for life.
A graduate of the University of Pennsylvania, she is currently working on a follow-up workbook for teens. When Keri isn’t busy working with teens, she spends time with her own four children and her flock of chickens.

Join me as I sit down with Rose Clark, a parenting coach.
After burning out at work, Rose learned, in therapy, that she had had a highly abusive childhood. Her need to push herself SO HARD was rooted in trying to earn something that seemed out of reach her whole life - feeling her parents' love.
When Rose became a mom, it magnified her insecurities, and started triggering UNSHED TEARS and UNEXPRESSED ANGER. She felt she had 2 CHOICES… Fall into the abyss of repeating what her parents did, or learn completely new ways of relating.
Rose will forever be grateful that she stumbled upon Language of Listening® A parenting model that not only allowed her to become the mom she always wanted to be, but also allowed her to re-parent herself. Now, as an Authorized Language of Listening® coach, she specializes in helping moms who had difficult childhoods and gets them to a place where they LOVE the way they parent.

I loved chatting with Jessica. Her story is VERY inspirational and a MUST listen for ALL.
Here is her information:
Jessica is a young breast cancer survivor who was diagnosed at 33 years old. She went through 16 rounds of chemo, 24 rounds of radiation, a double mastectomy, a hysterectomy and a 10- hour flap reconstruction.
Jessica has lived life with diseased breasts, no breasts and transplanted breasts from her own tissue.
In her words she is "now Forrest Gumping" her way through survivorship and empowering women as she does.
Jessica is the FIRST breast cancer patient to create an app to help women do self breast exams and advocate for their breast health, and she is currently working with her state representative to pass a bill that would teach high school students about self breast exams, skin exams and testicular exams.

As someone who has come into contact with too many with breast cancer or the fear of it, I HIGHLY recommend this episode.

I loved chatting with this amazing soul! Welcome, Michelle Gordon. Michelle is a registered nurse of 24 years, and hit the depths of burnout, anxiety and alcoholism in 2017. After her own journey through burnout and recovery, she is now on a mission to help other women and nurses overcome burnout themselves.
Her goal is to help others live a life of joy, freedom, health and happiness.
She has become a life coach, NLP practitioner and Reiki practitioner and has developed a holistic approach to healing from the inside out.
Her story spoke to me as a teacher as well. We all put ourselves in to our work often forgetting who we are at the soul level. It's important to recognize the signs when you begin to feel burnt out.
