What if your trauma doesn’t have to follow you forever—and the “symptoms” you battle are really detours away from the original hurt? In this episode, we explore what it can mean to complete an emotional wound, not just cope with it.
Hosted by Sana on The Mindful Living, this conversation is for anyone carrying long-term pain, anxiety, anger, numbness, or self-doubt. Dr. Robert Bleck shares how childhood trauma can get buried for survival, then resurface later as compulsions, addictions, phobias, and relationship patterns—and how his three-phase approach aims to resolve the source.
Dr. Robert Bleck is a counseling psychologist with a PhD in counseling and a background training future therapists at the university level. He developed Source Completion Therapy (SCT) and is the author of Give Back the Pain.
Notice “diversions” (compulsions, rage, addictions, phobias) as signals of deeper stored pain.
Start with awareness: identify who hurt you and what happened—without forcing details.
Use the body as data: recurring physical symptoms may point to unprocessed emotional wounds.
Revisit the past safely and gradually (visualization/hypnosis/self-hypnosis) to access buried feelings.
Complete the process through guided communication (directly or indirectly) to express impact and reclaim power.
Healing doesn’t erase memory—it reduces emotional intensity so life isn’t driven by pain.
