My guest tonight is Gill Davidson , 57 years old and Yorkshire born and bred.

Her background is in mental health as a mental nurse ,having been qualified over 30 years.

As well as being a nurse she also works with men and women to support them to rebuild their confidence when life experiences have taken a toil on their self esteem.

My reason for doing this was because after finding myself in two abusive relationships one after the other many years ago my confidence was at an all time low.

Physical abuse , followed by emotional and psychological abuse affected my relationships with everyone, my family and especially my son.

Those days were dark , scary places where at one point I remember making a plan to end my life by hanging myself in my garage , I actually bought some rope.

We get out of those dark moments though don’t we because we know that’s not going to solve

anything.

There is life after being in an abusive relationship, and it’s a more fulfilled life, and you realise just how much you’re worth.
