En: In the hospital, the Christmas lights glowed.
Cs: Na každém oddělení visely girlandy, a vzduchem se neslo tiché dunění koled.
En: Garlands hung in every ward, and the soft rumble of carols filled the air.
Cs: Zima letos přišla brzy, ale v nemocnici bylo teplo.
En: Winter had come early this year, but it was warm inside the hospital.
Cs: V hale pacientů a návštěvníků pulzoval rej lidí.
En: A throng of people pulsed through the lobby of patients and visitors.
Cs: Jana stála u dětského oddělení.
En: Jana stood by the children's ward.
Cs: Právě dokončila směnu.
En: She had just finished her shift.
Cs: Její mysl ještě byla u pacientů, ale teď měla jiný úkol.
