I stand before you today not as someone who has lived a perfect life, but as someone who has walked through the fire, stumbled in the dark, and found the light on the other side. My journey has been filled with pain, challenges, and heartbreak. But through it all, I’ve learned one unshakable truth: healing is possible, and joy is worth fighting for.
You see, I grew up in an environment where love wasn’t always gentle, and safety wasn’t always guaranteed. I was hurt by someone who was supposed to protect me—a non-biological father who brought pain instead of comfort. For a long time, I carried that pain with me. I felt lost, broken, and unsure if I would ever feel whole again.
But something inside me refused to give up. Maybe you’ve felt that, too—that tiny voice inside that whispers, “Keep going. You’re stronger than this.” I didn’t realize it then, but that voice was my inner light. It was the part of me that believed in a better future, even when the present felt unbearable.
I began to understand that healing wasn’t about pretending the pain never happened. It was about acknowledging it, owning my story, and choosing not to let it define me. I decided that I deserved more than the hurt I had experienced. I deserved love, joy, and peace. And so do you.
My healing journey wasn’t easy, but it was worth every step. I started focusing on the things I could control—like the way I spoke to myself. Instead of saying, “Why me?” I began saying, “Look how far I’ve come.” I surrounded myself with positivity, with people who uplifted me, and with the belief that my story could help others. That’s how my podcast, Healing Through the Journey, was born.
Through sharing my truth, I’ve discovered the most incredible thing: our pain can become our power. What once felt like a weight pulling me down has become the very thing that lifts me up. By staying positive, I’ve found joy in the smallest moments and strength in the love I’ve built for myself.
