Today we are back with the Health Hub, talking about all things food (again!) but this time, talking about the joys of cooking, learning to enjoy foods and home baking, and some of the choices I have made to improve the quality of my food in my house. It is truly not about becoming a 5-star chef but learning to nourish your body and your family’s health from your own kitchen. I believe it is an important skill we should pass to future generations.
I know for me, learning to cook was transformational in improving my relationship with food, in understanding the importance of quality, and also just improving my gut health overall. Whole foods over processed, any day!
I talk about how I got started with cooking and how this helped to decrease our consumption of fast or prepared or ultra processed food, and how a lot of that involves preparation that is worth the extra work for the health of my family.
