I didn't open my clinic because I had a brilliant business plan.
I opened it because I had enough.
I was working in an environment where I increasingly felt business decisions were colliding with what I believed was best for patients. At the same time, my ER career looked successful from the outside—but I was rarely home, deeply unfulfilled, and beginning to question whether this was how I wanted to practice medicine for the rest of my life.
So I made a decision that did not make sense to everybody around me.
I walked away from stability and opened my own clinic.
There was just one problem:
I had absolutely no idea how to run a business.
In Part 1 of this three-part series, I'm telling the real origin story—the frustration that pushed me out, my family's reaction, the fear behind leaving a secure physician career, the early mistakes, and the realization that sometimes you don't leave because you know exactly where you're going.
Sometimes you leave because you finally know you cannot stay where you are.
And Part 2 gets even more uncomfortable.

Why Bali Had to Wait—and What Happened When I Stopped Making Every Change of Plan Mean Something Was Wrong
I got married, had an almost month-long honeymoon planned in Bali—and then went back to work.
Not because something was wrong, but because my business needed me in that season.
What I didn't expect was how much that decision would teach me about marriage, priorities, anxiety, expectations, and letting go of the need for life to happen exactly as planned.
In this personal episode, I share what happened, what I learned, and why I no longer see every change of plan as a problem that needs to be fixed.
Because sometimes the plan isn't ruined.
It's simply waiting for another season.

You can spend hundreds, even thousands, trying to feel better and still be left wondering: What am I actually trying to fix?
Another supplement. Another test. Another diet. Another protocol. Sometimes they help. Sometimes they don’t. But when there’s no clear clinical question behind what you’re doing, it can become very difficult to understand what your body’s response is actually telling you.
In this episode I challenge the “just try something else” approach to health and explains why doing more isn’t always the same as moving forward.
You’ll hear why more testing isn’t automatically better testing, how changing too many things at once can leave you with fewer answers, and the question worth asking before spending another dollar trying to feel better.
If you’re tired of collecting recommendations without understanding what deserves your attention, this conversation is for you.

You say you’ll do anything to feel better.
But what does “anything” actually mean?
In this episode, I’m finally saying some of the things I’ve wanted to say to my patients for years about what healing really asks of us.
Because sometimes it isn’t another supplement, test, medication, or quick fix.
Sometimes it means changing something you’ve been protecting. Giving your body more time. Making an investment. Or taking an honest look at the life your body is being asked to live.
Wanting to heal and being willing to change are two different things.
This conversation may challenge you—but it may also change the way you think about what getting better actually requires.
You may hear something you’ve been avoiding—or something you finally needed to hear.

You’ve done everything you were supposed to do.
You’ve researched your symptoms, checked your labs, changed your diet, tried the supplements—and somehow, you’re still asking, “Why don’t I feel better?”
Maybe you don’t need another answer.
Maybe you need to understand the answers you already have.
In this episode, Dr. Jeanty challenges the way we’ve been taught to approach our health—and asks a question that may change what you do next.
If you’ve been collecting information but still don’t have clarity, this conversation is for you.

What if you are not missing another answer—you are missing the connection between the answers you already have?
In this episode, I am talking about why so many women are treating fatigue, weight changes, sleep, digestion, hormones, and stress as separate problems when they may be part of a much bigger picture.
I’ll share the question I’m asking my patients more often—and why looking at when everything started changing can reveal something a symptom-by-symptom approach may miss.
Because your body isn’t a collection of symptoms. Your health has a story.

I loved him. We built a life together. We had a daughter, a home, history—and still, it took me eight years to walk down the aisle.
At one point, I even canceled the wedding.
There was no scandal. No secret relationship falling apart.
So what was I waiting for?
In this very personal episode, I share the truth about what was really happening—and the uncomfortable realization that changed everything.
This conversation is about marriage, but it is also about fear, control, independence, and the things we say we want while quietly finding reasons to wait.
Because sometimes we are not waiting for the right time.
Sometimes we're waiting to feel safe enough to let life change.

You can now ask AI why you're exhausted, what labs to request, what supplements to take, what to eat, and even get something that looks like a health protocol in seconds.
So what do you actually need from a doctor?
In this episode, Dr. Jeanty explores why having more health information doesn't necessarily create more clarity. You can have labs, supplements, wearable data, diagnoses, and endless recommendations—and still not understand what is actually happening in your body or why you don't feel better.
Because your body doesn't live separately from your life. Your symptoms are connected to your history, stress, sleep, relationships, habits, environment, and everything your body has been experiencing.
This is a conversation about moving beyond generic protocols and asking better questions: What matters? What's connected? What's being missed? And what does all of this mean for you?
If you're tired of collecting information and ready to understand your health from a deeper perspective, this episode is for you.

Tell me what hit home in this episode
Something is changing.
After years of hosting Find the Root Cause, I realized the conversations I wanted to have had become bigger than symptoms, diagnoses, labs, and treatment plans.
Health still matters deeply to me. But our health does not exist separately from the lives we are living.
So I’m opening the conversation.
Welcome to Health, Life & What’s Next with Dr. Jennifer Jeanty, a podcast where health meets real life.
We’ll talk about the body, but we’ll also talk about relationships, marriage, identity, emotional health, ambition, business, leadership, difficult decisions, personal growth, reinvention, and the person you are becoming through all of it.
This isn’t about giving you more information to consume.
It’s about having honest conversations that help you understand yourself, see your life differently, and think more deeply about what comes next.
Listen to the trailer and follow Health, Life & What’s Next so you don’t miss the first conversation of this new chapter.

For months, I thought I needed better topics, stronger titles, and more discipline.
The truth was harder to admit: I had outgrown the version of the podcast I created years ago.
In this personal final episode under Find the Root Cause, I share why recording began to feel like an obligation, what this show gave me, and why changing direction does not mean the original chapter was a mistake.
This is a conversation about identity, honesty, creative exhaustion, and recognizing when something that still looks right from the outside no longer feels true on the inside.
The podcast is not ending. It is growing with me.
Stay subscribed. The next chapter is coming.
