On this special episode Gil speaks to Gregg on the topic of NMP Problem in Medicine. NMP stands for 'not my patient, not my problem" an endemic yet widespread 'infection' that is the byproduct of an excessively hierarchical and overly engineered specialist and subspecialist culture of medicine so wide and so deep even the best of the best present with blind (i.e. implicit or confirmation bias) spots while we the patient, family member, friend or loved ones often pay a very steep price. In Gregg's case, his son Anthony John Masters may be it's latest victim to lose his life on the watch of 'physicians' (faculty, fellows, residents, interns and PAs staffing a Level I trauma, teaching affiliate hospital of a world class medical school - Icahn Mt Sinai School of Medicine), albeit this phenomenon plays out daily so who knows who may be suffering as we speak?
