Welcome everybody and thanks for joining us on episode #8 of “Health Talk with Dr. Kell”. I’m your host, Niki Sterner, and today we’re going to be discussing General Life Challenges in our world.
Before I begin, if you or someone you know is struggling with suicidal thoughts, please call the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline. That’s 800-273-8255. They provide service 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to anyone in suicidal crisis or emotional distress. Connect with someone. Your life matters.
Life Challenges? Or - Opportunities to Learn? Change your perspective and change your life! That’s today’s focus. Right now, with the COVID Crisis, emotional health is our number one challenge. Everyone is dealing with loss, whether it’s the loss of a loved one, a familiar routine, face-to-face connection, a business, in-person school, school sports, or the loss of a job. We have all felt this. So how do we turn it around?
Dr. Kell shares a story about the Optimist and the Pessimist in today’s talk, and it really focuses on changing our perspective. There are so many ways to do this. We can educate ourselves by taking online classes, reading, listening to podcasts, or even just talking to another person can provide you with new information that will help you change your perspective. Start the domino effect, moving in a positive direction, and let it take you with it, because what you think about, matters.
“Watch your thoughts; they become words.
Watch your words; they become actions.
Watch your actions; they become habits.
Watch your habits; they become character.
Watch your character; it becomes your destiny.”
