Healthcare workers have joined Indigenous water protectors in speaking out against the expansion of Enbridge’s Line 3 pipeline in northern Minnesota. For today’s show, we first hear from White Earth Nation water protector Alex Golden-Wolf, joining us on-site from Line 3 protests in Washington, DC.

Then, we discuss the public and mental health ramifications of climate change and climate advocacy among health professionals with Dr. Claire Gervais.

Alex Golden-Wolf is a Two-Spirit Indigenous leader of the White Earth Nation and a water protector.

Claire Gervais, MD is a family practice physician and is a Clinical Associate Professor with the Department of Family Medicine and Community Health at the University of Wisconsin–Madison. She is a member of the Wisconsin Environmental Health Network and actively works on a number of environmental issues including climate change and eliminating fossil fuel dependence.
