Healthy Holidays + Basics of Collagen

Listen Later

Health is important to all of us, and we want to take the best supplements for our bodies. While our parents may have had us take our daily vitamins from an early age, we may have missed a very important supplement: collagen. As I'm getting older and pregnant, this is a supplement I regret not starting sooner.

What makes Collagen special?

As we age, our bodies stop producing collagen at the same rate. As we age, our bodies produce less of this amazing supplement naturally, so we turn to the shelves to keep us feeling and looking good. From protecting our bones to maintaining our hair, nails, and skin, collagen has so many benefits. When we go from a plump grape to a raisin, collagen steps in to keep our skin and tissues healthy and resilient. However, not all supplements are created equal.

I'll be answering questions like these. Does vegan collagen exist?

Unfortunately, the answer is no. As a man-made product, it won't produce the same results as natural products. It is important for you to consider the source of your collagen supplement.

I’ll also share what I'm using this holiday season to support myself during my pregnancy.
