The more valuable the relationship, the greater the price. In order to be willing to make the investment, there must be a proportionate understanding of the potential reward. Our behavior toward other people is an indication of how much we value them. There must be a willingness to pay the price for levels of intimacy. Jesus paid the price for our salvation once and for all. There is a price we pay to maintain fellowship or intimacy. We must preserve, protect and strengthen our relationship with Him and with others that we value. God is no respecter of persons; however, He is a rewarder of those that diligently seek Him. Associations don’t cost as much. We may have many associations but not all of them deserve equal access. One of the dangers of social media is the perception of full access. When we share intimate information with associations, it devalues the relationships that have invested in our intimacy. Be careful in sharing the intimate secrets of your life with those who have not earned your trust. Guarding your heart is the responsible thing to do. Recognize and reward those who have been willing to pay the price to be a true friend.
