đ EPISODE 254 â HEAR 2 ZEN PODCAST đ
Guest: Liam Guinane (Windwaker)
Hey there beautiful humans and welcome back to another episode of Hear 2 Zen! I'm your host and we are absolutely buzzing today because we've got episode 254 coming at you hot!
Now, if you're heading to Good Things 2025, you're gonna want to stick around for this one because we've got someone pretty special joining us today. We're talking to none other than Liam Guinane, the powerhouse vocalist from Australia's genre-bending legends Windwaker!
đ„ For those who might be living under a rock â and hey, no judgment, we've all been there â Windwaker is this incredible five-piece that's been absolutely tearing up the scene. We're talking Liam on vocals obviously, Justin Keurntjes shredding on guitar, Indey Salvestro holding it down on bass, Chris Lalic smashing the drums, and Connor Robins doing some absolutely wild stuff on synths and samples. These guys are the definition of genre-bending madness!
đž They dropped HYPERVIOLENCE back in July 2024 and let me tell you, that album was a complete game-changer. But wait, there's more! They followed it up with the HYPERVIOLENCE EXPANSION PACK deluxe edition earlier this year, packed with three new tracks and some seriously cool surprises that had us all losing our minds.
And speaking of losing our minds â they've just dropped this absolute banger called "Victory Lap" that we're definitely going to be diving into today.
So buckle up, turn up those speakers, and get ready for some serious genre-bending goodness as we chat with Liam about everything Windwaker, Good Things 2025, and what it's like to create music that literally defies categories.

Episode 252 â The Hear 2 Zen PodcastGuest: Jizmak Da Gusha from GWARThis week, we dive headfirst into the blood-soaked, slime-drenched, planet-conquering chaos that is GWAR, as drummer Jizmak Da Gusha joins us ahead of the bandâs return to Australia for Good Things Festival 2025.Itâs been 11 years since these intergalactic Scumdogs last terrorised our shores, and weâre asking the big questions:Where has Gor Gor been hiding all these years, and will he be safely contained for the trip Down Under? As the most monstrous act on the festival lineup, which other Good Things band would Jizmak invite to join GWARâs setâand what unholy fluids would they get drenched in onstage? Is it true that Jizmakâs father was half pit bull, half badger, and half ice hockey goalie? (Yes, the math doesnât add up, but neither does GWAR.)Life on âThe Wide Wide World of Sportsââis it still just frisbees as far as the eye can see?Back in 2014 at Soundwave, GWAR famously decapitated thenâPrime Minister Tony Abbott. What fresh ways does the band have planned to outrage the Australian public this time around? And finally, will the Scumdogs of the Universe embrace the fine Australian tradition of the shoey, or will they turn it into something far more⊠disturbing? This episode is a chaotic collision of satire, sci-fi, and sludge, with plenty of laughs and just enough blood to keep things interesting. Strap inâGWAR is ready to do Bad Things at Good Things 2025.More about GWARThe story ofâŻGWARâŻis carved across the history of this hopeless planet, butâŻGWAR themselves are not of this worldâŠTheir story begins far past Uranus, in the deepest reaches of space, where the beings known asâŻGWARâŻwere warriors in the Scumdogs of the Universe, an elite fighting force in the army of the Master of All Reality. ButâŻGWAR proved too reckless and powerful, and after a series of tragic but hilarious blunders, they were banished to the furthest reaches of the galaxy, with orders to conquer an insignificant backwater prehistoric mudball known as the planet Earth. Once here,âŻGWAR, the original Ancient Aliens, shaped the face of the globe, wiping out the dinosaurs, and mating with apes to create the human race. Having accidentally given rise to all human history, the Master of All Reality froze them in Antarctic ice where they could do no more harm. It was there they were discovered by a shady entrepreneur known as Sleazy P Martini, who sat the band down in front of professional wrestling, late-night horror movies, heavy metal music, and a steady diet of crack cocaine untilâŻGWARâŻbecame the cultural force they are today! Good Things Festival 2025 Dates Are:Friday 5 December - Flemington Racecourse, MelbourneSaturday 6 December - Sydney Showground, SydneySunday 7 December - Brisbane Showgrounds, Brisbane#musicpodcast #podcast #music #newmusic #musicpodcasts #podcasting #spotify #spotifypodcast #podcaster #youtube #podcastlife #interview #applepodcast #musician #artist #musicinterview #musictalk #episode252 #hear2zenmagazine #hear2zenpodcast #SubscribeNow

đ¶ Join us as we discuss the balance between fan enthusiasm and festival logistics, the role of social media keyboard warriors, and how to foster positive, memorable experiences at live events. We believe festivals are about good times, connections, and musicâso let's focus on the joy they bring instead of the negativity.

Welcome To Episode 243
In this episode we are joined by former INXS front man JD Fortune
JD dropped by to talk about his return to Australian stages for his first ever headline tour this October with his band to perform the Best of INXS!
We talk about JDâs time with the band, recording the album and the videos, as well as some behind the scenes gossip about the show. JD touches on his relationship with INXS and if his upcoming shows might have some surprise guests
The upcoming shows will see JD perform a set of INXS anthems and classics including Need You Tonight, Never Tear Us Apart, New Sensation, Mystify, Devil Inside, Donât Change, Suicide Blonde, Original Sin as well as the songs he co-wrote with INXS, Pretty Vegas and Devilâs Party

As he later said to Rolling Stone Magazine, âI wanted to be Michael Hutchence, he was just so damn coolââ. Fastrack to 2005, life became surreal for Fortune as he rose to international fame as the winner of the reality show, Rock Star: INXS. For 7 years from 2005 to 2011, JD fronted INXS and sang on their final studio album, âSwitchâ and now JD is ready to reconnect with Australia and the music that changed his life.
The shows are sure to be a dynamic, emotionally charged live experience that honours the legacy of INXS while shining a spotlight on JD Fortuneâs vocal talents and captivating stage presence. Backed by a world-class band this tour is a must-see event for Australian INXS fans.

Welcome To Episode 37 of The Hear 2 Zen Podcast Today we go a little bit country with two interviews. First is Casey Barnes and up after that is Andrew Farriss.Golden Guitar winner, and one of Australiaâs best country rockers, Casey Barnes has on Friday released his first foray into pop with a striking new single âCome Turn Me Onâ, following the success of his ARIA #1 Australian Country Album, Town Of A Million Dreams that also earned him an ARIA nomination for Country Music Album of the Year. With immediate hooks of electric guitar and violin, this country chargerâs beat drops as it reminds us that thereâs nothing better than coming home to the one you love. Barnes will be taking his new track on the road with a bunch of dates announced around Australia including a haul of some of Australiaâs most respected country festivals (Way Out West Fest, Gippsland Country Music Fest, Gympie Music Muster etc) and gigs in QLD, SA, VIC and TAS!For Andrew Farriss, it has never mattered what style of music he is writing. What is important is how the song makes you feel, the story it is telling and how the track lingers with you long after the music has finished playing. It was this ethos that the formidable songwriter took with him when it came to penning the tracks for what has become his debut solo album, a collection of songs that bring to life stories of outlaws, freedom, cowboys and love, and paint vivid imagery of gun slinging bandits, Australian history and international cultural spirituality. Andrew Farriss releases his debut self-titled solo album internationally on today, Friday 19th March 2021 through BMG / BBR.
