Episode 3: Away in a Manger?
So after another narrow escape, our three guys are, at last, on their way to P.A. But what is it that awaits them there? And why is The Dutchman so insistent on that particular destination? And can it be that Heine Schmitz has met his equal in Bitsy Albright? And will there be any happy surprises to greet our characters on Christmas morning? So many questions.
But all will be revealed in the conclusion of Three Wise Guys.

Episode 2: Holiday Cheer in Great Neck
It was certainly a good thing that Dancing Dan decided to try on The Dutchman’s Santa Claus suit when he did. Otherwise who knows what Heine Schmitz might have done when he walked into Good Time Charley’s speakeasy? Well, actually, we know exactly what he would have done. And it would not have been pretty at all. The Santa Suit continues to bring good luck. For the three guys, who are desperate to get out of town but don’t have a car to take them, have wrangled a deal to get one from Myrton, a butler for Mrs. Albright, of the Great Neck Albrights, who is in desperate need of a Santa to appear at her fancy holiday party.
Will Santa and his two “elves” be able to hold up their end of the bargain and bring Christmas cheer to the wayward boys and, indeed, to one and all...?

EPISODE 1: The Story Begins - Christmas Eve
It’s 1932 in New York City. The Depression is still with us and times are hard. On top of that, prohibition is still in force, so one can’t even drown one’s sorrows - well, not legally, of course. It’s no wonder, with employment opportunities so scarce, that some look to other activities to make ends meet. Bootlegging, gambling, racketeering and petty crimes are among the more popular options. But none of these are easy - and certainly have their risks - so for some, the holiday season doesn’t look too bright.

HEAR PLAY Audio Theatre's premiere offering: THE TRIANGLE FACTORY FIRE PROJECT by Christopher Piehler & Scott Alan Evans
EPISODE 1 The Strike (1909). The Fire (1911)
The Triangle Waist Company was one of New York City’s largest garment factories of its day. Located in the ten story Ashe Building just off Washington Square in downtown Manhattan, Triangle employed over 500 workers, many of them immigrants from Eastern Europe, Russia, and Italy. These workers, mostly young women, toiled fourteen-hour days making a popular lady’s garment: the shirtwaist.
On Saturday, March 25, 1911, just as the closing bell is about to ring at 4:45PM, a cigarette is tossed into a bin of fabric scraps on the eighth floor. Despite desperate efforts, flames rapidly sweep through the eighth, ninth, and tenth floors of the loft building — the three floors the Triangle Waist Company inhabits.
THE TRIANGLE FACTORY FIRE PROJECT uses eyewitness accounts, court transcripts and other archival material to create a dramatic moment-by-moment account of this historic fire and the social upheaval that followed. It culminates in the manslaughter trial of the owners, Isaac Harris and Max Blanck, the repercussions of which shaped social, political, and economic policies for decades to come.
