Since leaving home for Europe alone at age seventeen, Karen has traveled to more than ninety countries. By profession she is a meeting facilitator and marketing researcher who has conducted thousands of interviews and focus groups. Those skills have helped her to deeply connect with people around the world.

Every day she writes a 100-word essay about some aspect of travel and posts it to a large following on Facebook. She has endless stories about both business and personal travel, many viewed specifically from a single woman’s perspective. 

In July 2021, her travel memoir, Travel Mania: Stories of Wanderlust, was published by SheWrites Press.

She started her own successful marketing consulting firm in 1992 and now mentors entrepreneurs through Score (affiliated with the Small Business Administration). She has mentored many people with great success stories (even during covid!).
