When my psychic abilities first began to wake up, I had a brief moment where I questioned if I was losing my mind. Here, I was an Ivy League-trained PhD. talking to spirit guides! Ten years later, I had the opportunity to participate in a research study at Yale, led by Dr. Al Powers, comparing people who identified as clairaudient and embraced the wise voices of their intuition and spirit guides with those who were distressed by the voices in their heads. In this episode, I had the honor of interviewing Dr. Powers and Dr. Alexandria Bond to learn more about this fascinating and important research. We discuss the so-called “psychotic spectrum” and how the lens through which we view our “voice hearing” experiences can have a powerful impact on whether those voices seem helpful or harmful to us.
