Moses gives Isreal some instructions when they enter into the promised land. They are to go up on mount Ebal and should amen to the curses. Also they are to go up on mount Gerizim and proclaim the blessings. If we cannot admit we deserve curses, how can we allow Christ to take the curses for us.
