She was named National Geographic Adventurer of the Year in 2012 after completing the 2,181-mile Appalachian Trail in 46 days, 11 hours, 20 minutes. She'll share her incredible story of determination, endurance and teamwork, one where she averaged 47 miles per day, claiming the overall fastest known time on the Appalachian Trail and becoming the first woman to set the mark.

It has been ten years since Hurricane Katrina devastated the U.S. Gulf Coast. Today we'll consider how the lessons learned from that natural disaster could be applied to our own coastal community here in Hampton Roads.
