A Virginia judge handed down a unique sentence in the case of five students who defaced a historic black schoolhouse: read a book. The attorney who suggested this punishment joins us to talk about why she thought it would make a difference in the lives of these youths. Before that, we'll discuss a proposed mental health court in Newport News with the judge who championed the idea and a forensic specialist with the Hampton-Newport News Community Services Board. The United States conducted air strikes Friday targeting three facilities in western Syria involved in chemical weapons storage and research as a response to an alleged chemical attack that killed 43 people and affected at least 500 others in Douma.
