Reading the book of Job to get an answer to the question, -why do the righteous suffer-- is a misreading of the book. Rather, we should approach it as it is set forward in chapters 1 and 2- -why do the righteous serve God-- Is it because God is worth it in Himself, or is it because of all the good things he gives us- Whether good or ill befalls us, His name is blessed because of who He is, not because of what He does -not that what He does is out of character with who He is--.
