Here are the highlights of my interview with Karyn Danielle: Lead Better Now on Women Developing Brilliance.
Who is Karyn Danielle?
Karyn Danielle is a leadership coach who spent 20 years working in a diverse range of leadership roles before starting her coaching practice.
From working as a backcountry hut master to restaurant management, to leading a team in the intense pet care industry, she learned the key to leadership success is relationships, after that, everything falls into place.
She now helps leaders build better connections with their team, navigate their relationships, and understand the human side of leadership so they can become better leaders, improve team morale, achieve higher performance, all with less frustration.
Lightbulb moment
Kayrn learned many valuable lessons in her first leadership role right out of college.
Some were:
This became her signature system which brought her success in all of her future leadership roles.
Shining a bright light
Karyn shared that by recognizing the short space between an action and your reaction is a powerful moment. Taking a breath and being mindful before responding can make all the difference in the world.
She refers to this ½ second decision window as your “veto power.”
This is your opportunity to make a new choice vs. defaulting to auto-pilot.
Big truth
It’s really a mindset shift first that has to happen. In a leadership role, Karyn recommends instead of inserting yourself in every aspect of the project that you focus on getting each team member to take responsibility for their own actions - trusting them to execute on the skills and talents that you hired them for.
The alternative is when the leader inserts themselves into every step of the process, which in many times results in the leader becoming the bottleneck in situations.
Not micro-managing improves productivity and team morale all around.
Karyn’s words of wisdom
Everyone is a leader - it starts with self-leadership.
Karyn says that leadership shows up in every aspect of your life, it’s not just “on the job.”
Understanding people as individuals and looking at situations from their point of view transforms every relationship.
I loved my time with Karyn because
Her years of leadership experience couples so beautifully with the personal development work that she’s done over the years. The result is a powerful teacher who leads by example. Her philosophy of lifting up the person to the right of you and the person to the left of you has the power to create a ripple effect of positivity, accountability, and goodness.

Here are the highlights of my interview with Trish Taylor: Personal Stylist Expert on Women Developing Brilliance.
Who is Trish Taylor?
From small-town girl to celebrity stylist to female empowerment coach, Trish Taylor is a personal stylist expert.
She’s dressed stars like Ariana Grande, Kerry Washington, and Zendaya, but now has found a passion helping women entrepreneurs.
Trish uses style as a tool to create self-confidence and amplify solopreneurs brand message. She’s passionate about helping women not only look better but feel better in the body that they have now.
She advises “commit to only wearing clothes that you love!”
Lightbulb moment
After long days and nights styling for celebrities on the red carpet, Trish realized that something was lacking for her. Despite the glamorous Los Angeles buzz, she was missing a connection.
After taking a psychology course, she was determined to bring more of a holistic approach to her offerings and help women feel good about themselves from the inside out.
Shining a bright light
Coming from a family of 9 to 5’ers, Trish had to take a leap of faith to enter into the world of entrepreneurship. Shifting her mindset helped. Settling into the fact that she knew that she was put here to serve gave her the fuel to embark on the solopreneur journey.
Overcoming darkness
In the beginning, Trish battled with her own insecurities - both in her appearance and comparing herself with other stylists in her industry.
It was easy to create packages that mimicked others that had more experience than her.
She’s thankful that those initial growing pain years are behind her.
Through crystallizing her unique brand message and developing offerings that were more aligned with her target audience, she was able to release the feeling that she needed to be “like” others in her field.
In finding my own clarity for my business, I’ve helped my clients find clarity as well.
Big truth
The solopreneur is often neglected in the personal styling arena. Trish says it’s even more important for the online business women to show up across social media and in professional photoshoots in a way that accurately shows her brand.
Trish’s brilliant tips
I loved my time with Trish because
I stand behind her mission to help women become self-confident in the body that they have now. Her teachings include mindset work and tools to create a signature style so we can be the best version of ourselves. Amen!

Here are the highlights of my interview with Nicoletta Mura: Career Confidence Coach on Women Developing Brilliance.
Who is Nicoletta Mura?
Nicoletta Mura is a Career Confidence Coach with an extensive background in leadership and career development. Her mission is to close the confidence gap to help passion-driven women to claim a seat at the table and lead the way.
Nico overcame her confidence challenge and became a manager for a Fortune 500 company and she now helps other women to achieve their career goals, advocating for themselves with ease and authenticity.
Lightbulb moment
When she moved to the UK, with English not being her first language, Nicoletta noticed she was retreating into her shell due to lack of confidence. She realized in order to advance in her career and also have authentic relationships she had to step out of her comfort zone and allow people to truly get to know the real her.
Practicing English, which was uncomfortable at the time, is what helped her with confidence.
She attributes being able to connect with others and help them with similar struggles to her experience.
Shining a bright light
Nicoletta has narrowed down the common “mind monkey” that holds women back as what she terms as the confidence gap. She feels it connects with perfectionism.
And continues to say...In reality, we aren’t perfect at things right away. It’s a process and practice - and this is what she helps people with.
Big truth
Identify your strengths - this is the first step to building your confidence. It’s important to have a quick win and see yourself succeeding in some area of your life.
Reframing the narrative makes a big difference. For example, look at the impact of these two statements: “I’m not good enough” and “I’m not good enough yet.” With the addition of 1 word, it has the power to evoke compassion and changes the story.
We define our world with our words.
Balance in a chaotic world
Nicoletta uses Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) in her coaching to help clients improve their behavior by understanding the interconnection of our thoughts, feelings, and actions.
She says we focus so much on how we feel, but there is no button to immediately change a feeling. However, we can control our actions and then our thoughts and feelings will automatically follow.
She recommends Strengths Finder 2.0 to hone in on your unique personality traits. Knowing this information helps you focus on incorporating what you’re good at in your business which will optimize results.
I loved my time with Nicoletta because
We are kindred spirits! I met Nico online when we were both taking a story writing class. We value sharing our message with authenticity and empowering women to use their voice. She leaves us with these words of wisdom:
You are worthy of achieving your dreams.Connect with Nicoletta: https://www.poisetoshine.com
Kc Rossi here. I’m a Holistic Business Mentor and host of Women Developing Brilliance.
On the podcast, I’ve interviewed over 30 female entrepreneurs from around the world.
Each with their own story of how they began, their triumphs and tribulations.
It’s been awesome!
Lifting up women on the solopreneur path is one of my all-time favorite things. Not only does it provide connection it inspires others. I’ve received loads of emails from people whether they were just in the concept stage or a seasoned veteran telling me that being able to plug into real talk about women in business was just what they needed.
I love that!
Today’s episode is a little different.
Back in November, I conducted some market research and spoke with dozens of women at various stages in their business. I started to see a common theme.
Here’s what I learned:
*They all desired business mentorship, they saw the value in having a business coach guide them and show them the way.
*They all knew that an accountability partner would provide momentum and be a game changer for making progress.
*Many of them wished they had a group of like-minded women to share with so they didn’t feel so alone.
*And, several of them were looking for a package that they could comfortably invest in, without having sticker shock!
This got me thinking.
Previously, I only offered one-on-one coaching.
When I reflected on what I learned, I created Thrive Tribe.
Thrive Tribe is my new group coaching program. I created this for holistic startups to build their business in just 12 weeks so they could flourish.
Taking into account all the data that I collected, I crafted what I feel is the best of all worlds.
In Thrive Tribe, you’ll get a one on one kickstart coaching session with me personally to develop your specific roadmap. Then for 12 weeks, you’ll be learning a step-by-step blueprint covering everything from how to set up your business to what to charge to how to market yourself and so much more. You will go from concept to clients in our time with one another.
We will also have a private Facebook group to continue the conversation, share wins, and ask for support between sessions.
Because I’m a visual learner, I’ve created detailed slides to accompany each learning module. You’ll have access to the training before that week’s call to maximize our time with one another to go deeper together. This way you can clarify any questions that come up and keep making progress along the way.
You’ll have lifetime access to the materials so you can go back and reflect on any of the information covered.
I’m only opening up this offer to 8 action-takers.
The group is purposefully small so it stays intimate and powerful.
Everyone will have an opportunity to be heard, share, and contribute.
I’m really excited about this!
This is my first group program of its kind, and I can’t wait to get started!
Enrollment is open now and closes on April 18th.
We will begin as a group on Earth Day, which is April 22nd.
If you’ve thought about starting or building a thriving business but aren’t exactly sure how - this program is for you.
If you have a great idea for a business but organizing it all online is overwhelming - this program is for you
If you know in order to go from hobbyist to pro you need guidance and support - this program is for you.

"Kc's Musings" is an additional episode, departing from the typical Women Developing Brilliance interviews for just a moment to review Bonnie Ware's best-selling book "The Top 5 Regrets of the Dying" through the lens of an entrepreneur.
What if it was all over?
That may seem like a morbid thought.
But amuse me for a moment by doing the little exercise below:
What if it was all over? There were no more punches left on your dance card. When you look back at your life, what comes to mind?
• Did you say all that you wanted to?
• Did you have a rich and fulfilling career?
• Did you accomplish your dreams?
•Did you hold back?
Close your eyes and ask yourself, “What would I have done differently if I had the chance?”
Ok, now come back and join me.
How was that for you? What came up?
If you had regrets, then you’re not alone!
Best selling author, Bonnie Ware, shares what she witnessed as a palliative care nurse in her book, The Top Five Regrets of the Dying.
Here they are:
1. I wish I'd had the courage to live a life true to myself, not the life others expected of me.
2. I wish I hadn't worked so hard.
3. I wish I'd had the courage to express my feelings.
4. I wish I had stayed in touch with my friends.
5. I wish that I had let myself be happier.
Do any of these resonate with you?
The good news is that you have the power to change. To turn things around so you are living your best life...with NO REGRETS.
You are the maker of your destiny.
You get to decide what holds you back, what lights you up, what you will no longer stand for, and what legacy you wish to leave behind.
Isn’t that awesome?!
I get so pumped at the unlimited potential that each one of us holds.
So when you lay your head on the pillow tonight before the lights go out, ask yourself, who am I committed to being tomorrow?
Because if you’re lucky enough to be reading this today, then you get another chance to live your life with no regrets.
