A long, hard look at the immunization efforts slated for New York State ahead of what has been referred to as most the impressive scientific  undertaking in human history — development of multiple vaccines aimed at combating the novel Coronavirus — with one of those on the front lines here in Suffolk County. Melissa Principi grew up in Amagansett and has lived on the North Fork for the last 15 years, working in the wine industry. 

Minerva Perez is Executive Director of OLA of Eastern Long Island, who recently held a film festival on the east end. She also recently advocated for equity in Covid vaccine access on News12 after speaking to Governor Andrew Cuomo. Learn more about OLA. OLA commissioned Cassie Gitkin, a Chicago-based illustrator and artist, to animate a series focused on teenagers emotional health  & wellness.

Kim Barbour of the Suffolk County Cornell Cooperative Extension Marine Program came onto the program to discuss the virtual version of the annual culinary event "Shellabration." The benefit is traditionally held during the first week of December and hosts over 1,500 "shellabrants." The virtual version of the event continues to raise money for their "SPAT" program and the Back To The Bays Initiative, but also worked to promote the growing oyster community. Learn more.
