Heart of the Father Ministry Lakeland

Have you ever had someone take something you said, then twist your words to make it sound like you said something you didn’t? That’s not something we should be doing with Scripture! If we want to be found as having rightly honored, treasured, and rightly understood the Word of God, we must learn to read it in its context and to let it mean what it means. We can't twist the Bible to mean what we’d like it to mean.

A lot of people want to be comfortable, but in our spiritual lives if we are resigned that we're just going to live a comfortable life we will never have the edge of spiritual hunger that will drive us toward everything the Lord has created us for.

Apologies ahead of time for the poor audio quality; we had some technical issues!

There are a lot of ideas and sermons about what Jesus is like, but in the end you can’t separate Jesus from what He says in the Bible and still have the real Jesus. We have to take it all, even if it makes us uncomfortable, and weigh our lives against the truth of the Word so we’re conformed to what it says, not the other way around.

The most compelling witness for the reality and the beauty of Jesus in our lives is when we are so satisfied in Him and He is the center of our joy no matter what the circumstances. But how can we walk before the Lord in confidence and welcome His embrace? He is a redeemer who comes to transform and to change everything, but we also have to partner with Him and not turn our noses up at His conviction and sanctification in our lives.

Though the word "deacon" can have many connotations in the modern church, the Bible is very clear on what the office of a deacon is supposed to look like. Here's a hint: it's no small thing!
