  • The Glory of Christ - An Introduction of John Owen's Works Volume 1
At the end of this podcast is the answer to the question: What would John Owen say to the Theocast podcast, "Why I left Lordship" salvation." For John Owen, severing the Lordship of Christ from His saving work is a theological impossibility because saving faith receives the undivided Person of the God-Man, who simultaneously executes the offices of Prophet, Priest, and King. In Christologia and Meditations on the Glory of Christ (Volume 1), Owen demonstrates that Christ's Kingly office is not an optional addendum to salvation, but the very mechanism by which He bestows His Spirit, subdues the rebel heart, and delivers His people from the dominion of sin and Satan. True faith involves the voluntary subjection of the soul to Christ's scepter; therefore, a "salvation" that leaves a sinner in active rebellion against King Jesus claims a benefits-only fiction that departs entirely from the genuine gospel.

  • 3 A deeper look at Judas—Could You Betray Jesus Too? - Mark 14:10-21
Why did Judas Iscariot betray Jesus? Was it really just about 30 pieces of silver—or was something far more dangerous happening in his heart? In this in-depth Bible study of Mark 14:10–16, we explore the betrayal of Jesus Christ, the spiritual danger of loving money, and the remarkable truth that God's sovereign plan was unfolding even through humanity's most wicked actions. Judas was not an outsider. He was one of the Twelve disciples who had walked with Jesus, witnessed His miracles, and heard His teaching. Yet he chose money over Christ. How could this happen? And what warning does his betrayal hold for us today? In this episode, we examine the human and divine dimensions of Jesus' journey to the cross. After graduating from Moody Bible Institute, I spent the next 27 years serving as a youth pastor, senior pastor, church planter, and host of the Food For Your Soul radio broadcast. • “To Czechia We Go!” Feat. Jaron and Kim McFarland
If the Lord asked you to leave behind everything you knew and follow Him to another country, would you go? This is the question that faced Jaron and Kim McFarland. Living a comfortable life in Maine with their seven children and their cow, suddenly the Lord asked them if they were willing to give up, "the way life should be" to bring the Good News of Jesus to Czechia. Almost two decades prior, Kim had taken a trip to the Czech Republic and her report stayed with Jaron—"To my knowledge, I did not come into contact with one other believer." Jaron found himself asking, "If God were to call me, would I be willing?" Listen in to today's podcast to hear testimonies of the Lord's goodness, a surrendered family's zeal to serve Him, and faith in the midst of it all. • Training the Heart
Why are the Rod and Reproof so necessary? Proverbs 29:1–15 looks forward to the midweek sermon. In these fifteen verses of Holy Scripture, the Holy Spirit teaches us that the rod and reproof are means that God uses to conform a child to Christ. The devotional explores the divine purpose behind parental discipline, explaining that the combination of verbal rebuke and physical correction is essential for training a child to receive God's Word. It contrasts the tragic trajectory of a child left to himself, who hardens his heart and harms self and others, with the wisdom cultivated through consistent, loving correction. The text emphasizes that this discipline is not an end in itself but serves the rebuke, which is a means of grace by which Christ brings the child to repentance and faith in Himself. The message urges parents to trust in God's sovereignty to use these instruments for the spiritual formation of their children, lest they end up in themselves rather than in Christ and like Christ.

  • Worship in Spirit and Truth
The sermon distinguishes between modern cultural expressions of worship, such as music and emotional displays, and the biblical definition of worship as extreme submission to God in spirit and truth. It argues that true worship involves physical humility, such as kneeling and bowing, which aligns the body with a heart of contrition and confession. The speaker emphasizes that while praise and music are important, they are not synonymous with worship, which requires acknowledging one's unworthiness and the truth of human sinfulness. By referencing the seraphim and the need for genuine humility, the message calls for a return to a posture of deep reverence and self-humbling before the throne of grace.
