  • The Son's Witnesses
In this message from John 5:31-47, Pastor Rockhill takes up Jesus' response to the religious leaders who had charged Him with blasphemy for claiming equality with God. His central burden is that God has provided abundant, undeniable witness to the identity of Jesus as the eternal Son, so that those who reject Him are left entirely without excuse. Pastor Rockhill unfolds these witnesses, moving from the lesser to the greater. He begins with the "lesser" yet true witness of John the Baptist, that burning and shining lamp who pointed to the Lamb of God, and then turns to the greater witness of the Father Himself. The Father testifies through the mighty works and signs Jesus performed and through the Scriptures, which from Moses onward bear witness to Christ. Pastor Rockhill stresses that the Old Testament everywhere testifies of the coming Messiah, and that true searching of Scripture leads the heart to Jesus for life. The doctrine is sharpened by a sober diagnosis of unbelief. The leaders did not believe because they had no love of God in their hearts, because they craved the honor of men rather than the honor of God, and because they trusted in Moses and their own law-keeping rather than in Christ. Pastor Rockhill shows that Moses and the law, rightly understood, point to the one perfect law-keeper and accuse those who reject Him. By way of application, he calls believers to rest in God's truth without anxious self-defense, to discern when to shake the dust from their feet, and above all to humble themselves before these witnesses and come to Christ for eternal life.

  • Pray Always
Christians need to be awake. The world is happily skipping to destruction. They are struggling, but they are content to hunker down and try to push through to their imaginary success. Christians have a hope and we need to spend time in God's Word and His house to know His leading.

  • Trust in the Lord
Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. (Proverbs 3:5) *1/ The LORD God of Israel in whom we trust. 2/ What we are to trust him for. 3/ How we are to show that trust.* **Sermon summary:** The sermon explores the command to trust in the Lord with all one's heart, using King Hezekiah as a primary example of exclusive reliance on the God of Israel. It distinguishes between trusting in the true God of the Bible and placing faith in idols, human understanding, or political alliances like Egypt. The exposition outlines three areas of trust: God's sovereign providence over daily life, His specific plan of salvation through Jesus Christ, and His ongoing work in sanctifying and keeping believers. The preacher emphasizes that genuine trust is evidenced by obedience to Scripture, the diligent use of means such as prayer and the Word, and a steadfast hope that rests solely in Jehovah rather than in self-reliance.

  • Wisdom for this world
Who or what do you want to be? Too often, our eyes and our hearts are fixed on those who seem to be great in this world, but they are far from God. In response we hear wisdom speak. WIsdom gives a warning: do not let your heart envy sinners. Wisdom urges a contrast: we are instead to be zealous for the fear of the Lord all the day. Wisdom offers a promise: surely there is a hereafter and your hope will not be cut off. We need to lift our eyes and our hearts above this world and beyond the sinners who seem to have all this world offers, to the promised hereafter and the glorious hope which Christ provides.

  • A promise of joy again
And ye now therefore have sorrow: but I will see you again, and your heart shall rejoice, and your joy no man taketh from you. (John 16:22) *1/ Godly sorrow. 2/ A visit from the Lord again. 3/ The effect that man cannot take away.* **Sermon Summary:** This sermon explores the transition from godly sorrow to unshakeable joy as described in John 16:22, emphasizing that true spiritual sorrow is directed toward God and arises from a conviction of sin. The preacher distinguishes this from natural grief by illustrating biblical examples of both, highlighting that godly sorrow leads to repentance and a deeper awareness of Christ's substitutionary sacrifice. Central to the message is the promise that the Lord will 'see' His people again, signifying His active intervention to remove sin and restore fellowship, much like the joy following childbirth. The discourse concludes by affirming that the joy resulting from this divine visit is secure and cannot be taken away, offering assurance to believers that their salvation is grounded in the eternal covenant and the finished work of Christ.

  • Christ's Emotions and Ours - What Matters Most
In examining Christ's Emotions and Ours, Pastor Holland explores the theological connection between human emotions and the values they reveal, arguing that feelings are natural expressions of what the heart loves most. By examining Jesus's responses in John 8 and John 2, he demonstrates that Christ's balanced emotional life flowed from a supreme commitment to God's honor and the good of others, rather than from pre-programmed behavior.
